Putin’s Russian-American friend.. Seagal comments on the “invasion of Ukraine”

“Most of us have friends and family in both Russia and Ukraine,” said Segal, who holds US, Russian and Serbian citizenship.

He continued, in his interview with the American “Fox News” network, “I look at the two countries as one family, and I really believe that an external entity spends huge sums in order to stir up a dispute between the two countries.”

“I pray that the two countries will find a positive and peaceful solution, in which they can live together and prosper together in peace,” the 69-year-old Hollywood star explained.

Seagal has a strong friendship with Putin, and has often defended his policies, including Moscow’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, which prompted Kyiv to decide to ban him from entering Ukraine for five years.

In 2016, the famous actor obtained Russian citizenship, and in 2018, Moscow appointed him as Special Envoy for Humanitarian Relations with the United States.

Over the past few years, it has been noted that Seagal has been a regular visitor to Russia, and has accompanied Putin to many of the Russian president’s martial arts events.
